Introducing: The Off the Wagon Podcast

As the off-season looms, so does the question of what happens to The Schooner Pod. It’s been a hell of a time and honestly, I’m not ready to retire the mic for a few months. With that being said, it’s hard to figure out what to talk about next.

Recruiting is nice, but a full podcast about it would be overkill. OU basketball is fine and dandy, but a full podcast for it might be a bit much. Jamison and I are crazily knowledgeable about the Oklahoma City Thunder, but honestly, that doesn’t fit the brand.

So instead of deciding on one particular topic, why not blend everything interesting into one mashup of a podcast?

Introducing the Off the Wagon Pod, the Schooner Blog’s offseason podcast.

This will be quite a bit different from The Schooner Pod. While Jamison will make appearances on the pod when he can, he obviously has an extremely busy life outside of this. To counter this, Off the Wagon will have a rotating co-host system based on both topic and availability. Sometimes we might have two people on; sometimes it might even be four. There are no rules.

For the most part, expect plenty of Thunder episodes with OU basketball and recruiting ones mixed in as they are relevant. Other than that, there’s no way of telling what topics will pop up. It’ll be an exciting time.

Want a preview of what the pod will be like? Episode One is up now, featuring a friend of the blog, Ty Lee. It’s a good one. As of now, we are on the same feed, but if anything changes, we’ll let you know.
